In January, Suits stars Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht, and Gina Torres (but sans Meghan Markle—we’ll get to her later) were among the network’s cast celebrating the series’ summer renaissance at the Golden Globes, during which Adams and Macht presented an award. Had they merely crashed the party unannounced, that would’ve been no less a source of delight for fans—especially given a briefing the duo slipped to red carpet reporters ahead of the show. Turns out, the rumors are true: Suits is coming back. Sort of.

Adams was quick to shut down any news of an official “revival,” but he told Entertainment Tonight that “a Suits spin-off” is indeed “in early stages.” He continued, “It’s a show in the Suits universe, like a Suits L.A. Anyway, our fearless showrunner Aaron [Korsh]’s working on that, and if we got the phone call—if I got the phone call—I’m ready to suit up again. I love the show, I love the character, and I love working with all these people.”

What will Suits L.A. be about?

Macht said that the spin-off “is in a separate world, but within the Suits world. So, who knows? Maybe [Adams] will show up one day in L.A.” When the ET reporter probed for more intel, Adams insisted “you know as much as we do.”

Now, there’s a lot more specifics. The official logline states that the show follows former New York federal prosecutor Ted Black, who “has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles.”

“His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career,” the logline continues. “Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”

Who will be in the spinoff of Suits?

Arrow star Stephen Amell stars as Ted Black, the main protagonist. The Walking Dead actor Josh McDermitt joins as Stuart Lane, co-founder of Black Lane Law, and Lex Scott Davis as Erica Rollins, “a savvy and strong-willed rising star who works for Ted Black,” Deadline reports.

Others listed on the cast are Troy Winbush as Kevin, Alice Lee as Leah and Bryan Greenberg as Rick Dodsen. It has not been officially confirmed that Adams or Macht will be returning.

Will Meghan Markle be involved?

Though Adams and Macht made the reporter rounds at the Globes, Markle was notably missing from the Globes red carpet. Apparently, she isn’t in the cast group chat either, per fellow Suits actress Torres. On the carpet, Torres told Variety, “Our text thread is insane right now,” but that they “don’t have [Markle’s] number. We just don’t. So she’ll see; she’ll watch. She’ll be happy that we’re here.” When asked about a potential Markle cameo in the aforementioned spin-off, Adams joked, “She’s pretty popular right now.” (Translation: “Unlikely.”)
