Just when it seemed the chatter around the literary phenomenon All Fours might finally slow down, STARZ swept in with news to reignite the fervor: The acclaimed Miranda July novel will be adapted for television.

A massive bestseller and 2024 National Book Award finalist, All Fours follows a middle-aged woman who embarks on a road trip—and then an affair—in July’s shocking, sexy, and conversation-starting work of literary fiction. There’s very little we know about the TV show just yet, but July herself has promised it “is going to be wild.”

Per Deadline, All Fours landed at STARZ after a heated competition amongst studios and streamers.

“I’m thrilled that All Fours has found a home at STARZ,” July said in a statement shared by STARZ. “I had an electric feeling from the moment we met; it was clear we were speaking the same language. Rather than shying away from all the messy contradictions within sexuality and desire, STARZ really digs into the reality of who women are and what we want, which makes it the perfect place to bring my novel to life.”

Added Kathryn Busby, STARZ’s president of original programming, “We are honored that Miranda has entrusted us with the adaptation of her magnificent novel All Fours. As we continue to expand our boundary-pushing programming for adults, we’re excited to work with Miranda on this extraordinary story that resonates with women around the world.”

July shared the news on Instagram, captioning it with, “Whatever else happens in the next few years know that a team of incredible women are working together to make 8 (or 12?) episodes of television just for you. 8 to 12 hours of your uncertain future are completely taken care of. ♥️”

This story will be updated.
