Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are coming up on the one year anniversary of their marriage, and a source speaking to Entertainment Tonight says that their relationship is doing better than ever.

“Ben and Jen are doing phenomenally,” said the source. “They are closer than ever before and both of them are elated. They’re feeling united and are in very positive spirits… Ben loves how talented, intelligent and loyal Jen is. They lean on each other and are supportive of one another.”

They’ve also figured out how to manage their blended family, which includes children from their former marriages. Affleck shares his three kids, Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Lopez shares her 15-year-old twins, Max and Emme, with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Balancing summer plans has been their focus as the wedding anniversary approaches.

“Ben and Jen Garner are figuring out their kids’ upcoming schedules,” the source explained. “As for Jen and Marc Anthony, there are no issues when it comes to co-parenting.”

The couple had two ceremonies in 2022, first a Las Vegas chapel celebration in July followed by an extravagant weekend party with all their friends in Georgia on Affleck’s personal estate. The pair were first engaged 20 years ago, before breaking up and moving on to other relationships. In November, Lopez told Zane Lowe in a tell-all interview on Apple Music 1 that their split was the “biggest heartbreak” of her life.

“Once we called off that wedding 20 years ago, it was the biggest heartbreak of my life,” she said. “I honestly felt like I was going to die. It sent me on a spiral for the next 18 years where I just couldn’t get it right.”

She continued, “But now, 20 years later, it does have a happy ending. It has the most would-never-happen-in-Hollywood ending. ‘That would never happen. We’re not going to write that because nobody would believe it’ ending.”
