Kim Kardashian often adheres to strict diets, which traditionally eschew alcohol. She has apparently been off the caffeine as well, but has decided to “let loose a little bit” with her personal rules around both. The reality star told Gwyneth Paltrow on her Goop Podcast that she actually stopped with alcohol because she “hates the taste.”
Until she started getting into tequila.
“I started to drink a little bit at the age of 42. Coffee and alcohol,” she explained. “I feel like I just gotta let loose a little bit. Cause why not, you know? I just feel like I work a lot and I focus… all day after school then it’s like product meetings and testing things and packaging meetings and everything.”
She added her preference is for tequila and pineapple shots, saying,“It just has to be a little shot of pineapple and a shot of tequila. I have two shots and I’m like so good. It’s been fun.”
The Kardashians star has not been completely sober all these years, though she once told People, “I do not drink alcohol at all. My sisters drink, so when they get a little crazy, I am there to pull them down…. I’ve never really been a drinker. I hate the taste of alcohol.’
And a source confirmed to People in 2018 that the SKIMS founder “rarely’ drinks.”
“She drinks here and there, but mostly abstains. She may have a glass of champagne on a holiday or for someone’s birthday, but it’s rare,” they said.
Another source repeated what Kardashian has said herself, explaining the influencer “pretty much doesn’t drink at all. She’s not a partier and it’s just not part of her life. Occasionally she’ll have a drink, but she really doesn’t like the taste of alcohol.”
They added, “They’re very conscious of their image, Kim especially. They don’t like to lose control. Kim definitely had her years of partying, especially around the time she was friends with Paris. She also used to go to clubs every night of the week. Her life is completely different now.”
And now it’s different again.
