If there’s one thing Britney Spears knows how to do, it’s sparkle. For her Los Angeles wedding on Thursday, the pop star got more than $550,000 worth of jewelry and 62 carats to marry her now-husband Sam Asghari. The two wed in a backyard ceremony at Spears’ home, nine months after getting engaged.

Stephanie Gottlieb was Spears’ exclusive jewelry designer for the day and also created custom wedding bangs for the couple. “Britney wanted simple and classic jewelry that would be a statement, but not take away from any of the other special details of her day,” Gottlieb exclusively told ELLE.com. “So we were tasked with creating beautiful and iconic pieces that would add to her overall ensemble, sticking true to what we do with our own designs and styling her in something unique and memorable.”

For Spears’ bands, Gottlieb said her team “built a beautiful stack of two bands to pair with her engagement ring.” She continued, “The goal was to create a stack that could be worn everyday without overpowering her beautiful engagement ring, but something that still felt special and unique. The first band is a classic round diamond eternity band in a shared prong setting with diamonds all around. This perfectly compliments her round diamond center stone. We also designed a marquise diamond band, set east west in a bezel set eternity band. This was a nod to Britney’s playful side and something that sets her stack apart from others. Both bands were created in platinum and feature two carats total weight of diamonds per band.” Gottlieb also designed two platinum bands for Asghari, one with a polished step edge and the other with a polished beveled edge. The three worked together virtually to make the band selections, and Gottlieb’s team got them ready in just two weeks.

As for the rest of Spears’ jewelry, the singer made her final selections at her final dress fitting. Gottlieb told ELLE.com, “We knew that Britney’s dress had a classic silhouette with an open neckline, so we designed timeless pieces that would compliment the style, including tennis necklaces, bracelets, and statement drop earrings.”

She continued, “Britney went right for the fancy shape tennis necklaces and ended up selecting our heart shape tennis necklace featuring 27 carats of diamonds—this was the perfect statement piece to anchor her look! We added a 23-carat oval diamond tennis bracelet and pear shape diamond drop earrings with over eight carats to complete her set. The mix of brilliant diamonds in different shapes is a fun way to style these classic pieces and suits her playful personality.” The diamond tennis necklace set in white gold is valued at $100,000, while her diamond tennis bracelet, also set in white gold, is valued at $200,000. The earrings, featuring round diamond and pear shape drops set in pave diamond halos, are valued at $250,000.

“Britney is an icon, so it was so exciting to work with her and her team for this huge moment in her life,” Gottlieb added. “So many people, myself included, are rooting for her success and happiness, and it was such an honor to be a part of this special day for them.”
